In Guatemala ist die Sage der Sorgenpüppchen weit verbreitet: Der Sonnengott gab Prinzessin Ixmucane die Gabe, die Probleme anderer Menschen zu lösen. Ixmucane gab diese Fähigkeit an die Sorgenpüppchen weiter. Der Überlieferung zufolgte erzählt man abends den Sorgenpüppchen seinen Kummer und legt sie über Nacht unters Kopfkissen. Am nächsten Morgen sind alle Sorgen verschwunden - weggetragen von den Sorgenpüppchen.

Die emPower StudentInnen sind da
Mit dem Frühlingsschnee kamen auch die 20 emPower Studentinnen und Studenten des vierten Lehrgangs. Neun Monate lang werden sie im Kinderdorf zusammen leben und gemeinsam studieren. Sie kommen aus Ländern, in denen die Stiftung Kinderdorf Pestalozzi tätig ist und arbeiten bei den Partnerorganisationen, die Bildungsprojekte umsetzen: Aus Serbien, Mazedonien, Myanmar/Burma, Thailand, Laos, Honduras, El Salvador, Guatemala und Tansania. Der Ansporn dieser Studierenden ist es, während der Ausbildung in der Schweiz in den Bereichen interkulturelle Kompetenz, Entwicklungszusammenarbeit und Bildung mehr zu lernen.

Illnau-Effretikon engagiert sich für Roma-Kinder
Die Bevölkerung der Stadt Illnau-Effretikon unterstützt mit 50'000 Franken ein Projekt der Stiftung Kinderdorf Pestalozzi, dank dem Roma-Kinder in Serbien zur Schule gehen können. An einer Ausstellung, die bis Ende März im Stadthaus Illnau-Effretikon zu sehen ist, kann man sich umfassend über das Projekt informieren.

Les poupées magiques « mange-chagrin » au Guatemala
Au Guatemala, la légende des poupées magiques « mange-chagrin », également appelées « poupées à soucis », est largement répandue : le Dieu Soleil donna à la Princesse Ixmucane le don de résoudre les problèmes des gens. A son tour, Ixmucane a transmis ce talent aux poupées magiques « mange-chagrin ». Selon la légende, si l’on raconte le soir ses soucis aux poupées magiques « mange-chagrin » avant de les déposer sous l’oreiller, ils auront disparu le lendemain matin − emportés par les poupées magiques « mange-chagrin ».

emPower : les nouveaux participants sont là !
Les 20 étudiants et étudiantes qui s’apprêtent à suivre le cycle de formation emPower organisé pour la quatrième fois sont arrivés en même temps que la neige printanière. Ils vont passer neuf mois à vivre et à étudier ensemble au Village d’enfants. Ils sont issus de pays dans lesquels la Fondation intervient, exercent une activité sociale et sont intégrés dans l’une de nos organisations partenaires locales: Serbie, Macédoine, Birmanie, Thaïlande, Laos, Honduras, Salvador, Guatemala et Tanzanie. La motivation de ces étudiantes et de ces étudiants est de développer leur savoir-faire en matière de compétences interculturelles et de communication non-violente et de partager leurs représentations et leurs idées avec d’autres jeunes du monde entier.

Illnau-Effretikon se mobilise pour les enfants Roms
La population de la ville d’Illnau-Effretikon soutient à hauteur de 50'000 francs un projet de la Fondation Village d’enfants Pestalozzi grâce auquel les enfants Roms de Serbie peuvent aller à l’école.

En mai, durant quatre semaines, on dansera de manière intensive au Village d’enfants. Une soixantaine d’enfants et de jeunes du Village d’enfants, de Trogen et de Saint-Gall élaboreront collectivement avec le chorégraphe Josef Eder une oeuvre de danse. La représentation publique du projet de « Community Dance » qui a été porté à la connaissance du public avant tout par le film « Rhythm is it », aura lieu à la « Tonhalle » de Saint-Gall.

Worry dolls from Guatemala
The worry doll legend is well known in Guatemala: the sun god gave Princess Ixmucane the gift of being able to solve other people’s problems. Ixmucane passed her gift on to the worry dolls. Tradition has it that you share your worries with the worry doll as you go to bed, then tuck it under your pillow. Next morning, your worries will have disappeared - carried away by the worry doll!

The emPower-students have arrived
Together with the spring snow, 20 students have arrived to participate in the fourth training course emPower. They will live and study together in the Children’s Village for nine months. The students come from countries where the Pestalozzi Children’s Foundation is active and they are integrated into one of your local partner organisations: Serbia, Macedonia, Myanmar/Burma, Thailand, Laos, Honduras, El Salvador, Guatemala and Tanzania. The students are motivated to enhance their competencies in intercultural and non-violent communication and prepared to share their experiences with like-minded people from other parts of the world. Illnau-Effretikon supports Roma children
The population of Illnau-Effretikon has donated 50,000 francs in support of a PCF-project which enables Roma children in Serbia to go to school.
Let's Dance
The month of May will be a month of dancing in the Children’s Village. Under the guidance of choreographer Josef Eder, sixty children and adolescents from the Children’s Village and from Trogen and St. Gallen will develop a dance piece. The highlight of the Community Dance Project, which gained popularity through the documentary film "Rhythm is it!", will be a professional performance in the Tonhalle St. Gallen. Read more
