Equal educational opportunities for Roma children

Roma women begging on Swiss streets, heaps of rubbish left behind in Roma camp sites, children waving about with pistols: Whatever our media have to say about Roma is invariably negative. Success stories are much more discrete, but they too exist. As a result of PCF's special needs classes for Roma children and other marginalised children in Macedonia, graduation rates in secondary schools have risen. Books for children: Our new project in Tanzania

Encouraging the fun of reading and writing and stimulating the curiosity of first graders: Our partner organisation develops children's books in Kiswahili and trains teachers in the use of child-friendly teaching methods.
