Intercultural education for young adults
Young adults from different countries take a nine-month training programme in intercultural education in the Children’s Village in Trogen. Emerging as experts in intercultural communication, they will transfer their experience and knowledge during their work with children and young people in their home countries.
The students come from countries and regions where the Pestalozzi Children’s Foundation is active, i.e. from Central America, East Africa, South East Asia and South East Europe. EmPower is primarily geared to young adults between 22 and 28 years of age. Students already hold a bachelor or comparable degree, demonstrate keen interest in interculturality, are engaged in social work and integrated into one of your local partner organisations. Coming from different countries and social strata, students are motivated to enhance their competencies in intercultural and non-violent communication and prepared to share their experiences with like-minded people from other parts of the world.
In March 2012 14 students from Central America, East Africa, South East Asia and South East Europe started the fifth course.
