On a knoll above Trogen lies the Pestalozzi Children's Village. The view across the Appenzell countryside is stunning. The Children's Village has everything a proper village requires: residential houses, sports fields, lawns, a school, a radio studio, a multi-purpose building with a gymnasium, a kiosk, a youth club, a village kitchen, a laundry, workshops and a meditation room (auditorium). Its large open spaces, sporting facilities and youth club offer many possibilities to meet outside formally organised events. The Visitor Centre explains the colourful history of the Children's Village from its creation in 1945 until today.
Six residential houses provide accommodation for groups joining PCF's Intercultural Exchange Projects and school classes from Switzerland. Seven houses are used by PCF's Integration Programmes.
