powerup-radio - run by children and young people
A children’s and young people's radio run by children and young people: Whether in the Children's Village in Trogen or in the radio coach outside a Swiss school, 8 to 18 year olds sniff «radio air» and present their own programmes focusing on interculturality, child rights and anti-racism.
The powerup-radio of the Pestalozzi Children’s Foundation contributes towards strengthening the awareness and competency of children and adolescents. Radio is an innovative medium which children and young people enjoy working with. It gives them a mouthpiece to voice their concerns and helps them feel taken seriously. It also helps them develop their personality. The topical work on one of our core subjects (interculturality, child rights and anti-racism) is further elaborated, strengthened and reflected with the help of reports and radio coverage by the children and adolescents themselves.
The comprehensive radio experience is completed by the programme being broadcasted on a designated UKW frequency thus reaching out into the villages and towns where parents and anybody else interested in the subject can listen to the programme via UKW, cable radio, web radio or podcast.
