Learning how to respect each other

- Swiss pupils during a project week in the Pestalozzi Children's Village
The Pestalozzi Children’s Foundation invites Swiss school classes to meet children and adolescents from abroad who stay in the Children’s Village in Trogen for Intercultural Exchange Projects. Here, very direct encounters take place where children and adolescents learn to reflect their own values and behavioural patterns thus strengthening their own identities and communication skills.
Topical project weeks or days are a further focal point. During these events, pupils are given wide range opportunities to gather experience and knowledge on subjects such as interculturality, anti-racism, child rights and human rights.
A combination of school and radio projects promotes holistic learning with sustainable results. New experience gathered through mutual exchange and new knowledge gained during interactive courses (input) can be strengthened and reflected in the Village’s radio studio or the mobile radio bus (output).
- INPUT Pupils study a core subjects, learn through doing and gather new experience in interactive coursework or during exchanges with children and adolescents from abroad.
- OUTPUT These experiences and the acquired knowledge can be further elaborated and reflected in the Village’s own radio station or in the mobile radio coach (designated UKW frequency).
School projects are mainly geared towards school classes from junior and senior secondary schools.
