Yambhu Lagang - Place of wisdom
In the autumn of 1960, the first Tibetan group consisting of ten boys and ten girls accompanied by their Tibetan educators arrived in the Children’s village in Trogen. The young refugees found a new home in our house "Yambhu Lagang" (Place of Wisdom) which was named after the oldest castle in Tibet.
Today, "Yambhu Lagang" still accommodates young Tibetans, although they are not refugees but born in Switzerland. Eight to ten boys and girls between 7 and 18 years of age live together with four educators. They are supported by a socio-pedagogical team of Tibetan origin who takes care of them throughout their day-to-day life, leisure time and cultural activities.
