The Rights of the Child in the Foundation
The Pestalozzi Children’s Foundation embraces the basic values of human rights and international human rights treaties, in particularly the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child and the UNESCO Universal Declaration on Cultural Diversity.
The Pestalozzi Children’s Foundation is committed to implementing the child rights in its programmes in Switzerland and abroad. Its activities are primarily focused on the right to education and the right to cultural diversity, but also cover the range of other rights which are instrumental for the realisation of the rights to education and cultural diversity. In addition, we support the commitment and participation of children and adolescents in all our activities. This support involves assisting and implementing projects in Switzerland and abroad that are aimed at improving public awareness of the child rights.
The Pestalozzi Children’s Foundation also works towards implementing the child rights in Switzerland. As a founding member of the Child Rights Network Switzerland, the Foundation headed the network’s coordinating office from 2003 to 2008. Today, the network unites more than 50 organisations involved in children's policy, child rights and child protection.
