The solar cinema makes a stop at the Pestalozzi Children's Village. As the sun sets between the houses in Appenzell, a special film experience begins - not in the cinema hall, but under the stars. The unique open-air cinema, which is powered entirely by solar energy, will be showing Ella and the Black Jaguar, an adventure film for the whole family, on 15 July 2025.
The evening starts with a yoga session for everyone. The subsequent concert by Priti Pawar (The Voice of Germany) will provide the perfect backdrop. Snacks, popcorn, soft ice cream and cool drinks ensure that the evening is a film spectacle in a natural setting.
Free admission: Come along and enjoy a wonderful evening without admission costs. Those who wish may make a contribution to the collection.
Seating is limited: Bring your own camping chair to ensure a cosy seat.

We recommend travelling by public transport. From St.Gallen, take the S21 to Trogen railway station. Afterwards you can enjoy the view on a short walk into the village.
There is limited parking available at the Pestalozzi Children's Village. There are other car parks in the surrounding area.
In case of bad weather, we move the solar cinema to the multi-purpose hall of the children's village.
