It was thanks to the foresight of Walter Robert Corti and his fellow campaigners such as Marie Berta Meienhofer and Elisabeth Friederike Rotten that the foundation stone for the Pestalozzi Children's Village was laid in 1946. Corti's vision became a reality not least because so many people believed in it and actively supported it.
80 years later, the Pestalozzi Children's Foundation can still count on a broad network of donors who support it because they are convinced of the value and impact of its work. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts for this trust.
Just as the world and the challenges facing society have changed over the past decades, so have the activities of our foundation. Today, we are a unique Swiss non-profit organisation committed to the right to quality education in Switzerland, the Principality of Liechtenstein and 11 countries around the world, and
the Foundation remains true to the vision formulated by the founding generation of creating and strengthening the basis for living together in peace through educational work with young people. Unfortunately, the world continues to be torn apart by numerous wars and conflicts.
We are aware that we cannot solve all of the world's problems. But we have a clear vision: to help build a world in which children can learn freely and peacefully.
