Key data
Project location, duration and costs
The intercultural exchange programme takes place at the Pestalozzi Children's Village in Trogen (AR) and lasts between 5 and 15 days. The costs can be estimated based on the enquiry.
Contents and target group
This programme is for primary, secondary, intermediate and vocational schools, as well as training companies and youth groups. You will acquire knowledge and skills relating to intercultural communication, identity and values, discrimination, exclusion, civil courage, children's/human rights, cooperation and dealing with conflicts.
Educational content
We base the implementation of the courses on the methodological approaches that have been tried and tested in Education for Sustainable Development (ESD): Participatory, action-, experience- and adventure-orientated. In our work, we build on the objectives and guidelines of Curriculum21 on topics such as ethics, children's rights, discrimination, tolerance, religion and society.
Expertise and
knowledge
Self-competence
The project promotes finding and becoming aware of one's own identity and values. Participants try out taking on challenges independently and dealing with them constructively. They can recognise the viewpoints of others, but also represent and reflect on their own values.
Social skills
The exchange promotes interdisciplinary social skills - in particular the ability to build relationships, cooperate and deal with conflict. The focus is on dealing with social diversity: understanding diversity as enrichment, recognising people's similarities and differences and treating each other with respect.
Reflection
skillsParticipants learn to be aware of their feelings and needs and to formulate them openly and appropriately for the situation. Reflection exercises enable them to take on other perspectives, look at their own opinions from a distance and rethink them.
Language skills
The language of communication in exchanges with young people from abroad is English. The use of English in everyday life reduces language barriers and promotes interest in the foreign language as a useful means of communication.
