Need: Youth workers can network internationally in this way and build new partnerships. For the children's village, it is a showcase for its own professional work and the first steps towards adult education for professionals. Youth workers in Switzerland will also benefit from this and gain an insight into international youth work.
Impact goals: As an international education provider, this forum allows us to have our work assessed by experts and to receive new inspiration for our own work. At the same time, adults benefit from an insight into a unique Swiss NGO.
This contributes to ensuring that youth work in Switzerland and our foundation receives international attention and is recognized in professional circles.
The European Youth Forum: Since the European Youth Forum is taking place at the same time, young people also benefit from this know-how. It gets exciting when the perspective of formal education meets the world of non-formal education. How do teachers manage to delegate more responsibility to young people? How do youth workers manage to motivate young people to participate more?
Participants and partner organizations: Through an open call on Salto youth, 15 youth workers were selected for the forum. The partner organizations from Germany ( Bayerischer Jugendring ), Austria ( KOJE Offene Jugendarbeit Vorarlberg ), Liechtenstein ( aha – Tipps & Infos für junge Leute ) and Switzerland also drew attention to this forum in their network. The forum thus has a local, regional, national and international impact.
