2027
68 young people from Switzerland, Germany, Latvia and Kosovo, and the question of what peace has to do with us all. The young people explore their own identities and values whilst meeting peers who may view the same questions in a completely different light: What does a sense of belonging mean to me, and to someone who grew up elsewhere? Which privileges do I not even realise I have? What do we need to enable people from different backgrounds to live together peacefully?
Art offers a creative approach to this. It brings other perspectives to light, helps to express experiences, and raises questions to which there are no simple answers. The young people will encounter artistic approaches and become creative themselves. No prior knowledge is required. By the end of the week, everyone should take away something personal:
‘My perspective matters. I can express it. And I can make a difference.’
In 2028, RISE is planning several project weeks so that even more young people can take part in international exchanges. We are continuing to work with our existing partner schools and are looking for new upper secondary schools. A Swiss delegation comprises around 17 young people who take part on a voluntary basis and are accompanied to Trogen by teachers. Together with schools, we aim to create exchanges that have a lasting impact on everyday school life.
